New Year's Resolutions

January 1, 2013

Happy New Year everyone! Yesterday night I rang in 2013 with prosecco, an extended pampering session, my warm duvet and Eva barking at the sound of fireworks. It was far less glamorous than last year's NYE, which I spent in Paris, but this year, I didn't sleep through most of new year's day! So I had plenty of time to reflect on 2012, which was an absolutely amazing year, as well as get excited about all that 2013 will bring.

In the interest of simplicity, I've chosen three new year's resolutions for 2013. I want to learn French for real, and by "for real," I mean I'd like to learn normal conversational phrases instead of how to say things like "I am a cat," "I want a cuddle" and "I like chocolate-covered marshmallow bears." (Clearly, the mister taught me well.) I also want to read more. Literature, like dessert, is the perfect treat to conclude an evening. So here's to consuming more dessert more books this year. And I know this last one is a bit contrived, but I want to worry less about little things and devote more time, energy and attention to the things and people I love. Of course, there are a lot of other things I'd like to do in 2013, and those will make an appearance here in the months of blogging ahead!

Have any of you made resolutions? I wish you all luck, health and happiness in 2013!
