When I go shopping, there are some things I bring home and wear instantly. There are other things I convince myself would be amazing in the shop, only to get home, try them on again and second-guess myself. Case in point: this bright orangey-red fisherman mac I purchased from The Gap. I have never owned any outerwear item this bright, unless you count the vinyl raincoats I sported in the early 90s. Every time I put this on before I'm about to head out, I look in the mirror, wonder if I look too much like a stop sign, and hang it back in my closet in favor of something black or navy blue. It's actually not quite as bright in real life as my camera makes it look... but still... I'm quite shy in the real world, and this is the kind of color that gets you noticed! The other doubt about this coat is that it runs extremely big... this is an XS and it's still so roomy. So it may go back to the shop before it makes an appearance anywhere besides here. Even though there's something about shocking colors that calls my name...
What do you think about brights? Anyone else out there an indecisive shopper?
I do the same thing sometimes! Even though I think this looks like a super cute jacket on you, if you keep taking it off and not wearing it your instinct is usually right to take it back as you probably won't get your wear out of it.

I love bright colors, even though I don't have that many bright colored items in my closet currently. I'm more of a buy all the black, and grey I can get my hands on type of girl.

ReplyDeleteI rarely wear bright colours myself unless it's a statement piece like this jacket. I think it looks great on you but if you don't think you'll ever wear it then it's probably not worth keeping.

I actually love this jacket! I'm not crazy on bright colours myself, as I usually opt for black/grey/white, but the colour is so beautiful I would make the exception! Hopefully you will be able to wear this soon :D x
